Akhil Akkineni has been waiting for a strong comeback. Despite coming from a celebrated Telugu cinema family, he has not been able to score a blockbuster or establish himself as a bankable lead actor. He has acted in five films so far. After the disastrous “Agent” release in April 2023, he took a long break from acting.
Earlier this year, he launched a new project titled “Lenin”. But the film ran into issues after lead actress Sreeleela walked out of the project. The makers later approached Bhagyashri Borse as her replacement. The film is expected to restart production and aim for a release early next year.
Meanwhile, Akhil is exploring new opportunities. The latest buzz says he recently met director Prasanth Neel at NTR’s residence, sparking loud speculation. Some reports claim Akhil might appear in a cameo in the NTR and Neel film. Others say Neel is supporting a new project directed by his associate with Akhil as the lead.
An official clarification is awaited. But one thing is clear. Akhil Akkineni needs a solid comeback in 2026. With his elder brother Naga Chaitanya already settled as a popular mid-range star in Telugu cinema, Akhil must set his career on the right path soon.
