Akshay Kumar teams up with Chandoo Mondeti!

Chandoo Mondeti, known for films like “Karthikeya 2” and “Thandel,” appears to be shifting his focus to Bollywood after facing challenges in setting up big projects in Telugu cinema.

Following the mixed performance of his recent film “Thandel”, which did decent business in the Telugu states but underperformed overseas, the director reportedly struggled to secure a project with top-tier Telugu stars. He had also explored the idea of making an animation film, but that project has yet to take off.

Now, Chandoo Mondeti is said to be planning a major Bollywood venture. According to industry buzz, Akshay Kumar has agreed to collaborate with him on a big-budget film.

The project is rumored to also feature Rana Daggubati in a key role. Interestingly, both actors have been navigating a relatively challenging phase at the box office, making this collaboration a potentially crucial one for their careers.

The film is expected to be a historical thriller set against the backdrop of Ujjain. Reports suggest it will be mounted on a grand scale and produced by Karan Johar under the banner of Dharma Productions.

Interestingly, this move follows a growing trend of Bollywood stars collaborating with Telugu filmmakers, similar to how Vamshi Paidipally recently initiated a Hindi project with Salman Khan and Nayanthara.
