Actor Ali has urged people not to overreact to veteran actor Rajendra Prasad’s recent remarks, calling them a slip of the tongue rather than an intentional insult.
The controversy began when Rajendra Prasad, during filmmaker SV Krishna Reddy’s birthday celebrations, used an expletive while addressing Ali. The video quickly went viral, drawing criticism for the veteran actor’s language.
In a video posted on Instagram, Ali requested fans and netizens to stop trolling Rajendra Prasad.
“Please understand the situation. Rajendra Prasad garu is a respected actor. It was unintentional and he’s going through an emotional time, having recently lost his daughter. I urge everyone to stop sharing the video and let it go,” he said.
Rajendra Prasad, a leading star of the 1980s and ’90s known for his comedy roles, is a senior contemporary of Ali, who has made his mark both as a comedian and lead actor.
