All hopes placed on mighty Prabhas

The summer vacation will conclude the following week. The first day of school will be June 12. During this extended holiday season, the Telugu film industry was unable to generate a big amount of revenue due to the poor performance of its films.

“Virupakasha” starring Sai Dharam Tej was the only blockbuster of the season. Nani’s “Dasara” was a moderate success. All other Telugu films failed, whereas dubbed films such as “2018” and “Bichagadu” made a decent profit.

Thus, the Telugu film industry experienced its worst summer in recent memory. Therefore, the industry is placing all of its hopes on Prabhas.

As one of the most popular actors in India, Prabhas can attract audiences to the theaters in big way. On June 16, “Adipurush” will be released in India in five languages. Especially in Telugu-speaking states, the film’s opening day will see packed theaters. If the film lives up to the expectations, there will be a tsunami of box office receipts. In any case, Prabhas will inject vitality into the theatrical market.

The release of this mythological drama is therefore avidly anticipated by theater owners and distributors. ‘Adipurush’ is an epic based on Ramayana and directed by Om Raut.
