Anushka Shetty and Samantha are not showing much enthusiasm to sign up for new films. Anushka’s ‘Nishabdham’ had a direct release on OTT very recently, although she wrapped up her work for this film last year itself.
Anushka Shetty has not announced her next film yet. One of the popular managers in Tollywood recently took three proposals to her, but she reportedly declined to consider them taking up. All three projects proposed were heroine-centric films only.
She wants to do films slowly, one film a year. Plus, she would rather prefer working with her friends, or production houses that are close to her. Anushka doesn’t want to sign regular commercial projects at all.
Same is the case with Samantha Akkineni. After the debacle of ‘Jaanu’ early this year, Samantha has not signed any new film. She has turned down a couple of interesting heroine-centric films as well.
Much before the release of ‘Jaanu’, she had signed two bilingual movies, which have not yet begun the regular shoot.
Samantha, on the other hand, is busy branching out in other businesses – like hosting talk shows, launching educational and clothing brands.
