Rumors have been doing the rounds that Pawan Kalyan – Rana starrer ‘Bheemla Nayak’ will opt for a direct-OTT release bypassing the theatrical window. A streaming company reportedly offered Rs 110 crore for the direct-OTT release.
But producer Naga Vamsi took to social media to reiterate that the film will release in theaters on Jan 12, 2022. This production house has a history of backtracking on its release date announcements frequently. Even for a relatively small film like ‘Varudu Kaavelenu’ the production house changed the release dates three or four times after releasing posters with dates.
So, we cannot trust Naga Vamsi’s announcements on social media about the release dates until D-day nears. But we can be sure about this statement about the theatrical plans. It would not be a viable option for a biggie like ‘Bheemla Nayak’ opting for a direct-OTT release.
‘Bheemla Nayak’ features Pawan Kalyan and Rana in the lead roles. Directed by Saagar Chandra, the film is the Telugu remake of the Malayalam blockbuster, Ayyapanum Koshiyum.
