Just recently producer Naga Vamsi confirmed that he has not bagged the theatrical rights of the Bollywood movie “War 2” for Telugu states. He said the reports were false.
However, the bidding war among the Telugu producers and distributors to snatch the Telugu rights of “War 2” intensified. Dil Raju, Naga Vamsi, and Asian Suneil Narang are the frontrunners in grabbing the rights.
“War 2” is NTR’s maiden Bollywood film and a highly anticipated action sequel to “War.” The film features Hrithik Roshan in the lead role, who is reprising his role from the first installment, while NTR is the latest addition to his franchise, replacing Tiger Shroff. The film will see the face-off between Hrithik Roshan and NTR, with both of them playing equal-length roles.
Directed by Ayan Mukerji, “War 2” is scheduled for an August 14 release. It will clash with Rajinikanth’s “Coolie.” Despite competition from other pan-Indian biggies, the demand for rights to this film is huge.
The rights will fetch the producer Aditya Chopra more than Rs 100 Cr. The initial bidding price is in that range.
