Adivi Sesh has delivered a strong opening with “Dacoit,” pulling audiences to theaters despite multiple delays in the film’s release.
The action drama, which blends romance at its core, has collected around Rs 13.5 crore gross worldwide on its first day. The film earned approximately Rs 7.5 crore from India, while overseas markets contributed about Rs 6 crore.
North America emerged as the biggest contributor overseas, with collections touching Rs 5.3 crore (around $570K). The film also managed to gross over Rs 1 crore from the Hindi market, which is considered a decent figure given the current scenario.
The presence of Mrunal Thakur alongside Adivi Sesh, along with his consistent appeal among overseas audiences, played a key role in driving the opening numbers.
Despite undergoing delays and reshoots, “Dacoit” has started on a positive note. Directed by Shaneil Deo, the film now faces the crucial weekend test. Adivi Sesh is actively promoting the film across Andhra Pradesh to maintain momentum, and all eyes are now on how it performs over Saturday and Sunday.
