Prabhas holds the record of scoring highest-grossing movies in Tollywood with ‘Baahubali 2’. His ‘Saaho’ created a storm at the box office worldwide by amassing record openings. But with ‘Radhe Shyam’, everything has gone wrong.
‘Radhe Shyam’, which was in the making for four years, received shockingly low numbers. It underperformed in all regions, from Andhra to America, from Hyderabad to Delhi.
At RTC X-Roads, the complex of single-screen theaters in Hyderabad and considered a barometer for movie collections, ‘Radhe Shyam’ has failed to open big. It collected a gross of Rs 35 lakhs. It could not match the numbers of recent biggies like ‘Pushpa’ and ‘Bheemla Nayak’.
While ‘Pushpa’ stands top with 41 lakhs, ‘Bheemla Nayak’ is at the second position with Rs 38 lakhs on the first day. Mahesh Babu’s ‘Sarlieru Neekevvaru’, which was released three years ago, collected more money than this.
It is pretty clear that ‘Radhe Shyam’ could not bring in expected numbers
Our critic in his review said it was a lousy film with poor writing, and gave a 2/5 rating. Word-of-mouth is similar.
