Day 1: ‘War 2’ collects 52 Cr in India

While Rajinikanth’s “Coolie” dominates the box office worldwide, including the domestic market, Hrithik Roshan and NTR’s “War 2” has also posted decent numbers. Despite a negative campaign before release, the film managed to collect Rs 52 Cr in India from all languages.

According to box office tracking website Sacnilk, “War 2” earned the highest from its Hindi version, followed by Telugu. However, it was completely overshadowed by Coolie in Tamil Nadu.

Day 1 India collections for War 2:

Hindi: 29 Cr
Telugu: 23.5 Cr
Tamil: 0.25 Cr

“War 2”, however, performed very poorly in the USA. It didn’t stand any chance in front of the hurricane of “Coolie” in North America.

This marks NTR’s first Bollywood film, while Hrithik Roshan plays the main lead in this spy thriller.

Directed by Ayan Mukerji, the film received poor reviews. NTR had hoped to make a big impact in the North Indian market, but it remains to be seen how the film performs over the weekend.
