“Kantara Chapter 1” (also known as “Kantara 2)” announced its release date a few months ago. Rishabh Shetty, the film’s director and lead actor, has scheduled its release for October 2nd this year.
“Kantara” was a massive success across India, and its prequel titled “Kantara Chapter 1” is currently being filmed in a forest region near Sakleshpura in Karnataka.
Locals in the region have filed a police complaint against the filmmakers for violating rules and disrupting the tranquil ecosystem of the forest with bomb blasts during filming. Locals complain that the producers are not adhering to the Supreme Court’s requirements for protecting ecologically vulnerable forest areas.
Despite the controversy, Rishab Shetty is continuing the filming and is determined to complete the shooting in the stipulated time. The trade pundits say “Kantara Chapter 1” will generate Rs 500 crore in pre-release business, encompassing both theatrical and non-theatrical deals.
On the other hand, Rishab Shetty will also have to start work on his Telugu film, Jai Hanu Man, later this year.
