Dhanush’s manager denies casting-couch allegations

Tamil actor Dhanush found himself in the middle of a social-media storm after TV actress Manya Anand claimed in an interview that she received a call from someone claiming to be Dhanush’s manager, Sreyas. According to her, the caller offered her a role in Dhanush’s upcoming film and allegedly hinted at “adjustments with Dhanush,” implying a casting-couch demand.

The statement triggered outrage online, with many targeting Dhanush and his manager.

However, Manya Anand later posted a clarification video on her social media, stating she never accused Dhanush’s real manager. “A person—whose identity I’m not sure of—called me regarding a supposed Dhanush movie. I clearly said I didn’t know if the call was genuine,” she explained.

Following this, Dhanush’s manager Sreyas released a press statement reaffirming that he never conducts casting calls.

His statement read: “As I stated earlier on 31st January 2024 and again on 19th February 2025 on my official social media pages, I want to reiterate that any casting calls, messages, or offers made under my name or under Wunderbar Films Pvt Ltd are completely fake and baseless.”

With both sides clarifying their stance, the controversy seems to have subsided. Incidents of impostors posing as representatives of production houses, directors, or actors to mislead aspiring actresses have become increasingly common. And Dhanush’s team appears to be the latest victim of such misuse.
