Deepika Padukone was initially set to play the female lead opposite Prabhas in his landmark 25th film, Spirit, directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga. However, recent reports suggest that she is no longer part of the project, allegedly due to disagreements over remuneration and other demands.
Deepika had previously worked with Prabhas in “Kalki 2898 AD,” though not as his romantic interest. In “Spirit,” she was reportedly offered the role of the main heroine. According to Bollywood sources, the actress allegedly demanded Rs 40 crore for the role — a figure that reportedly did not sit well with director Sandeep Reddy Vanga.
However, this claim has raised eyebrows. Deepika’s highest reported remuneration so far has been Rs 18 crore for Kalki 2898 AD. A jump to Rs 40 crore seems unlikely, leading to speculation that the real issue may have been other conditions she allegedly placed.
These are the demands!

Reportedly, Deepika had specific requirements, including a six-hour workday, a 28-member personal staff, and a private jet for travel to shooting locations. These demands are believed to have caused friction between her and the director, who is also co-producing the film along with T-Series head Bhushan Kumar.
With these developments, Sandeep Reddy Vanga is said to be considering other leading actresses for the role.
