Producer Shirish’s recent interview sparked controversy and led to a section of Ram Charan’s fans calling for a boycott of all films produced by Shirish and Dil Raju. In the interview, Shirish remarked that neither Ram Charan nor director Shankar had the courtesy to reach out to him or Dil Raju after the box office failure of Game Changer.
These comments were made during promotional interviews for Thammudu, starring Nithin, which is set to release on July 4. Dil Raju, too, spoke at length about the failure of Game Changer, a film that released six months ago.
Ram Charan’s fans strongly objected, pointing out that the industry has witnessed many flops, but rarely have producers publicly blamed the lead actor or director. In response, they called for a boycott of films associated with Dil Raju and Shirish.
Facing the backlash, both Dil Raju and Shirish issued clarifications, stating that their comments were taken out of context and that they never intended to blame Ram Charan. Shirish added that he would offer an apology if his remarks had unintentionally hurt anyone. Dil Raju also emphasized that he shares a cordial relationship with Ram Charan and is even planning to collaborate with him on another project.
