The movie “Drinker Sai,” starring Dharma and Aishwarya Sharma, will hit theaters on this month’s 27th. Dharma met with the media and spoke at length about the film.
Background
“I hail from Hanuman Junction in Andhra Pradesh. Acting and dancing have captivated me since childhood, and I regularly imitated megastar Chiranjeevi. My grandfather owned a theater in Hanuman Junction. My father collaborated with producers of the Sobhan Babu starrer ‘Punya Dampatulu.’ Thus, our family has some connection with the film industry. With a desire to become an actor, I ultimately enrolled at Satyanand Garu’s acting institute.”
Preparation for the first film
“Drinker Sai is based on a real-life incident. Since this is my first film, I studied the character well and observed several people. I don’t drink alcohol. My director took me to several bars to observe the behavior of individuals struggling with alcohol addiction. I met the individual whose life inspired the story and gained insight into his experiences. We have incorporated fictional aspects into the narrative of our film.
Director Kiran, formerly a writer for director Maruthi, modified the original story of the person and included more commercial elements.”
Message
“Drinker Sai integrates commercial components with an engaging romance and a powerful message. To attract the public to the theaters, we incorporated youthful content in the trailer and teaser. The film will not mislead. Viewers will get its meaning subsequent to viewing it. The narrative undergoes a significant transformation in the latter half, evoking deep emotional responses at the pre-climax.
Favorite heroes
I like Prabhas because of his authentic acting technique, and I contend that no other hero has Megastar Chiranjeevi’s elegance in dance. These two are my favorites.
