Imanvi Ismail recently made headlines after the internet was abuzz with boycott calls against actors of Pakistani origin. The recent terrorist attack on Hindu tourists in Pahalgam, Kashmir, shocked the entire nation, and the Indian government has already announced various measures to give a befitting reply to Pakistan. The attack left 26 people dead.

At the same time, social media began targeting actors like Imanvi Ismail, who is making her Telugu debut, demanding that they be boycotted.

Following the uproar, Imanvi posted a lengthy message on Instagram explaining her background, implying that she is Indo-American, not Pakistani. She clarified that her family has no connection to Pakistan and that she was raised in the USA.

However, some social media users dug up her older posts, where she had proudly spoken of her Pakistani roots. In those posts, she mentioned her mother is from India and her father has roots in Pakistan.

As a result, the trolling has resurfaced.

On the other hand, the team of “Fauji,” starring Prabhas and directed by Hanu Raghavapudi, has stated that the controversy is unwarranted. They said she was cast based on her Instagram reels and videos, which were made in the USA. The team maintains that she is an NRI, not Pakistani.

“Fauji” is currently under production, with Mythri Movie Makers backing the project.
