Godfather grosses one million dollars

Megastar Chiranjeevi starrer ‘Godfather’ grossed $1 million on its first weekend. The film reached this mark on Sunday. For Chiranjeevi, reaching the $1 million mark at the USA box office is not a big achievement. However, the film being a remake of a most-watched Malayalam hit, Lucifer, and a film with serious content, it can be termed a 

Plus, ‘Godfather’ is the only film last weekend that grossed such an amount. Along with this Chiranjeevi starrer Nagarjuna’s ‘The Ghost’ and a small film ‘Swathimuthyam’ also were released. 

Nagarjuna’s ‘The Ghost’ was an outright loser. The film collected a mere $110k in the extended weekend. Nagarjuna is one of the few Telugu stars who have a huge market in the USA. He has multiple films that have grossed more than $1.5 million. But ‘The Ghost’ collected just $110k. 

On the other hand, ‘Swathimuthyam’ grossed just about $48k.
