Has Dil Raju lost the grip as a producer?

Once hailed as the number one film producer in the Telugu film industry, Dil Raju was known for his Midas touch. His banner, Sri Venkateswara Creations (SVC), delivered a string of blockbusters, many of which became benchmarks for clean, family-friendly entertainers.

However, in recent years, that magic seems to have faded. Moving away from content-driven stories, Dil Raju began focusing more on star-driven projects and big-ticket combinations—an approach that appears to have backfired.

Take a look at some of his recent productions: Thank You (starring Naga Chaitanya), Shaakuntalam (directed by Gunasekhar), The Family Star (with Vijay Deverakonda), Game Changer (starring Ram Charan and directed by Shankar), and Thammudu (featuring Nithiin). Most of these films failed to perform at the box office, leading to financial setbacks.

In the last four years, SVC has delivered only two commercial hits: Varisu (Tamil) and Sankranthiki Vastunnam (Telugu).

While the veteran producer is expanding his company’s reach and is actively involved with initiatives alongside the Telangana government, his production house no longer carries the same buzz or credibility it once did. The brand that once stood for quality now seems somewhat disconnected from the evolving tastes of today’s audience.

That said, Dil Raju appears determined to bounce back, with several big and mid-range projects lined up in the coming months.
