NT Ramarao, aka NTR, was one of the greatest actors of Indian cinema. The late NTR set the trend in the Telugu film industry by portraying mythological roles. Not only did he earn the image of demigod with portrayals like Lord Krishna and Lord Rama, he also didn’t hesitate to play negative mythological roles.
NT Ramarao portrayed Lord Ravana and Duryodhana with equal aplomb. Perhaps NTR was the only actor who played both Lord Rama and Ravana of ‘Ramayana’ successfully.
Kannada superstar Yash appears to have drawn inspiration from NTR. Nitesh Tiwari is directing “Ramayan,” in which he plays Ravana. Ranbir Kapoor plays Lord Ram and Sai Pallavi as Sita, the KGF’ star essays Ravana.
He says he would not have accepted any other role in the Ramayana than Ravana, as the character is exceedingly intriguing.
“I would not have undertaken any other role in the Ramayana. Ravana is, for me, the most captivating character to portray as an actor, and I greatly appreciate the complexities and subtleties of this specific role,” he added in an interview.
