Raids on the offices of film production companies by Income Tax officials are nothing new. They conduct regular raids on the offices in order to uncover any tax evasion. This is a routine issue.
However, for the first time, a team of Income Tax officials raided Mythri Movie Makers, the leading production house, on five consecutive days. This is a record.
The officials searched for documents proving the links amid allegations that a couple of politicians from Andhra Pradesh and Telangana had invested money in the production house. The officials reportedly found no proof.
Finally, the raids were called off on Sunday. The producers will now shift their focus to the production of high-profile films such as “Pushpa 2.”
Ravi and Naveen are the two producers who produce films under the banner of Mythri Movie Makers.
