Jersey flops in Hindi, tension mounts on RC16

Gowtam Tinnanuri is one of the most sensible directors in Tollywood. The low-profile young filmmaker made ‘Malli Modalaindi’ and ‘Jersey’, both were well-received by the audiences and critics alike.
‘Jersey’, in particular, brought him name and fame. Impressed with his work and handling of the emotions, Ram Charan has announced a film in his direction. After the completion of director Shankar’s film, Ram Charan will begin Gowtam Tinnanuri’s movie.
However, the young director needs to focus on his script more to have more commercially-appealing moments. While he delivered success with ‘Jersey’, his remake of the same film in Hindi failed to bring the audiences to the theaters. The Bollywood film starring a big star like Shahid Kapoor has raked in just Rs 16 crores in four days. The film crashed on Monday. The film is heading towards a flop in Bollywood.
Making a film with a middle-range hero is different, directing a big star is entirely another challenge. So, the director will have to be extra careful with Ram Charan’s movie.
After the massive success of ‘RRR’, Ram Charan has gained a pan-India image. Shankar’s movie will further enhance his image as a Pan-India star. Gowtam Tinnanuri will face pressure.
