Ranveer Singh offers prayers at Chamundeshwari Temple

Bollywood actor Ranveer Singh visited the revered Chamundeshwari Temple on Tuesday and offered special prayers.

The visit comes in the backdrop of the controversy surrounding his comments and mimicry of the Dhaiva avatar while praising Rishab Shetty’s blockbuster film Kantara: Chapter 1. During a public event, Ranveer had imitated the divine spirit character featured in the film, a gesture that many Kannadigas found offensive.

The issue escalated into a legal dispute, with a case being filed against the actor seeking an apology. Ranveer subsequently expressed regret over the incident and agreed to comply with directions related to the matter.

As part of that process, he offered prayers at the Chamundeshwari Temple in Mysuru, one of the most prominent and revered shrines in South India.

The actor has also been making headlines for other reasons. Recently, he found himself amid controversy related to “Don 3”, while reports also emerged about a non-cooperation directive issued against him by a major Bollywood industry body.

Despite the controversies, Ranveer continues to remain one of Bollywood’s most popular stars as his recent “Dhurandhar” franchise collected more than Rs 3000 crore worldwide, the only Indian movie franchise to do so.
