Bollywood actress Kriti Sanon has revealed that she chose to freeze her eggs as she is not planning to get married anytime soon and wanted to preserve her fertility while focusing on her career.
Speaking candidly on the Humans of Bombay podcast, the 35-year-old actress shared that she underwent the procedure during the time she was gaining weight for her National Award-winning film “Mimi.” Since her hormones were already undergoing changes for the role, she felt it was the right time to go through the process.
Kriti spoke about the physical and emotional challenges involved, including hormone injections, bloating, and mood swings. However, she said she was able to complete the procedure in a single cycle, giving her a sense of control over her future. She added that she did not want to feel pressured by biological timelines or societal expectations surrounding marriage and motherhood.
The actress also acknowledged that she was fortunate to be in a position to afford the procedure and said a friend’s advice encouraged her to make the decision.
While Kriti’s younger sister, Nupur Sanon, recently got married, the actress remains focused on her career. She has been linked to a businessman, though she has not publicly confirmed the relationship.
Kriti Sanon is familiar to Telugu audiences through her films with Mahesh Babu in “1: Nenokkadine” and Prabhas in “Adipurush.” She was recently seen in “Cocktail 2,” which failed to make an impact at the box office.
