Kuberaa trailer: Sekhar Kammula’s hard-hitting drama

After helming a series of love stories, director Sekhar Kammula takes a bold new turn with “Kuberaa” featuring Dhanush, Nagarjuna and Rashmika Mandanna in lead roles. It is a gritty political-societal drama that dives deep into the intersections of money, power, and justice.

The trailer opens with a hard-hitting line from Nagarjuna’s character: “History shows that only money and power work in this country, not justice and honesty.” Nagarjuna plays a power broker who shelters Deva, a beggar with an unknown past. But the very man he helped has now become a threat—to him and to the powerful forces he serves.

Rashmika Mandanna plays a grounded, everyday woman whose character is somehow connected to Dhanush’s, and their link seems crucial to the larger narrative. The trailer hints at a layered plot where the marginalized rise against a deeply unjust system.
