Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty has once again found herself in legal trouble. She and her husband Raj Kundra, who have faced multiple cases related to their business ventures in the past, are now embroiled in a fresh controversy. Recently, Shilpa Shetty also shut down her restaurant business in Mumbai.
On Friday, the Mumbai Police issued a lookout circular against the couple in connection with a multi-crore fraud case. They are accused of defrauding businessman Deepak Kothari to the tune of Rs 60 crore.
Kothari alleged that between 2015 and 2023, the couple collected Rs 60 crore from him under the pretext of business expansion. He further claimed that he was promised repayment with 12 percent annual interest, and that Shilpa Shetty herself provided a written personal guarantee in April 2016.
Shilpa Shetty has strongly denied the allegations, describing the case as baseless and malicious, and asserting that it was intended to tarnish their reputation.
