Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao had categorically stated that his government has no plans to impose the lockdown in the state as people had already gone through miserable conditions due to lockdown last year. Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has not stated anything so far. But with the growing number of corona cases in the second wave, citizen groups are demanding lockdowns in the Telugu states.
In Maharashtra, all cinema halls have been shut down until April 30. As of now, the release of Pawan Kalyan’s ‘Vakeel Saab’ is going to be a smooth affair.
But if the current trend of corona cases continues, the state governments of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana might review their stand on lockdown and put some sort of restrictions like 50% of occupancy in the theaters.
This is why the makers of Sekhar Kammula’s ‘Love Story’ and Nani’s ‘Tuck Jagadish’ praying for better conditions. It will have a devastating impact on these films if the lockdown gets imposed at the last minute as both the movies have extensively done their promotions so far and the buzz around these films is strong.
‘Love Story’ features Naga Chaitanya and Sai Pallavi and is directed by Sekhar Kammula. The film’s music is a runaway hit. If there is one film that has high expectations among the summer releases, it is ‘Love Story’. Moreover, the film has been in production for a long time. It was initially planned for 2019 release and then shifted to summer 2020. Due to delays in the production and the corona pandemic, the movie has finally locked its release date as April 16, 2021.
Nani’s ‘Tuck Jagadish’ has also slowly gained buzz with the promotions. The teaser has received a terrific response. The film was also to release in June 2020 but its production was affected by the lockdown last year. ‘Tuck Jagadish’ is slated for April 23, 2021 release.
Let’s hope everything goes well for the Telugu film industry.
