‘Saranga Dariya’ is the latest viral song. Shot on energetic Sai Pallavi, ‘Saranga Dariya’ is garnering millions of views and hundreds of thousands of likes. The song is from Sekhar Kammula’s upcoming release, Love Story.
Taking the popular Telangana folk number, new music director Pawan CH reworked the tune. National award-winning lyricist Suddala Ashok Tej wrote the lines for this folk tune. While the song has become viral, many are puzzled with the meaning of ‘Saranga Dariya’ as it is not a common Telugu word. Even those who are well-versed with the Telangana dialect are clueless about its exact meaning.
Now, in a video interview, Ashok Tej explains its real meaning (You can check Suddala Ashok Tej’s video interview about Saranga Dariya here). According to him, Saranga Dariya means a girl who wears Saranga, a popular musical instrument among Gond tribals in the Adilabad region in Telangana. In other words, Saranga Dariya is a girl who wore the musical instrument as her second skin. As we say ‘Murali Krishna’!
‘Love Story’ features Naga Chaitanya and Sai Pallavi as the lead pair. The film has generated huge buzz with this song becoming viral.
In Sekhar Kammula’s previous blockbuster, Fidaa, “Vachinde”, which was again shot on Sai Pallavi and written by Suddala Ashok Teja, became viral.
