Mahesh Babu’s “Guntur Kaaram” is the biggest film to hit theaters during Sankranthi season in all languages. The film had a tremendous opening day in both the domestic Indian market and the overseas.
The film grossed a stunning $1.4 million in the United States just from premiere screenings. This is the fifth biggest opening for a Telugu film in the United States. It is now on track to surpass the $2 million mark.
The producers were also pleased that the film grossed a lot of money on its first day in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh and is still doing well on Saturday.
Surprisingly, Bollywood superstar SRK tweeted about Mahesh Babu’s film and wished him success. “Looking forward to #GunturKaaram my friend @urstrulyMahesh !!! A promising ride of action, emotion and of course…. Massss!!! Highly inflammable!,” he tweeted.
Trivikram’s “Guntur Kaaram” received mixed reactions and reviews, however the film’s box office remains solid during this festival season. Mahesh Babu also demonstrated that he is an expert at delivering Trivikram’s dialogue.
