On Monday, a pre-release event for the Telugu version (the film will also be released in Tamil and Hindi) was held in Hyderabad.

Speaking on the occasion, Sivalenka Krishna Prasad of Sridevi Movies (who owns the all-India theatrical rights to ‘800’) stated that the biopic is filled with heavy emotions.

“The success of ‘Yashoda’ changed everything for me because it taught me about the national market. ‘800,’ with its many tearful scenes, will always hold a special place in my heart,” he said.

Muralidaran’s philanthropic activities in his home country of Sri Lanka were lauded by chief guest VVS Laxman.

“I am most fond of Test cricket. T20 cricket is far too popular. The T20 format has been elevated to a higher level. If I had the power to change the status quo, I would encourage fewer matches to be held in order to avoid overcrowding. I hope the best cricket lasts forever and brings joy to cricket fans,” Muthiah said.

“800” is produced by Movie Train Motion Pictures and directed by MS Sripathy.
