Priyanka Chopra, who plays the female lead in SS Rajamouli’s ambitious globetrotting adventure thriller “Varanasi,” has described her role as completely different from anything she has experienced before. The film marks her first collaboration with Rajamouli and also her first on-screen pairing with Mahesh Babu.

Priyanka recently wrapped up a major shooting schedule in Hyderabad and returned to her home in Los Angeles, sharing that she carried “a bit of Hyderabad in her heart” with her.

Unlike her other projects, the actress has been regularly updating fans on Instagram, offering glimpses from the sets and sharing her shooting experiences, clearly reflecting her excitement about the film.

“Varanasi” is said to be a unique blend of time travel, mythology, and high-octane adventure, setting it apart from conventional big-budget spectacles. Priyanka revealed that she plays a character named Mandakini, adding that the role is unlike anything she has portrayed—or even seen—so far. She described both the film and her character as entirely unique.

While Priyanka continues to juggle several international films and streaming projects, she is reportedly placing strong faith in this Telugu venture. The actress believes “Varanasi” has the potential to make a significant global impact when it arrives in theatres on April 7, 2027.
