Director SS Rajamouli set a new trend with the ‘Baahubali’ movies. The film showed the world true potential of Indian box-office and also gave inspiration to other filmmakers to divide lengthy films into two or three parts. Ranbir Kapoor’s ‘Brahmastra’ is following the same path.

Now, veteran director Mani Ratnam is doing the same. The auteur who is currently directing an epic period movie named

‘Ponniyin Selvan’ featuring Karthi, Vikram, Trisha, Jayam Ravi, Keerthy Suresh, and Aishwarya Rai has decided to release it in two parts much as Rajamouli did with ‘Baahubali’. He revealed this information during an Instagram chat on his wife Suhasini’s handle. To a query posed by a fan, he answered, “Yes, I am making Ponniyin Selvan in two parts.”

Unlike Rajamouli, Mani Ratnam will be shooting the film at one go. He will release it in two parts. The film is Mani Ratnam’s dream project.
