May Day weekend: Jetlee, Gaayapadda Simham, Kaara, Ek Din and more

The upcoming May Day weekend, spanning April 30 and May 1, is set to be a packed one for Indian cinema, with multiple releases across Telugu, Tamil, Hindi, Kannada, and Malayalam industries.
Kicking things off on April 30, Dhanush’s bilingual Tamil-Telugu film “Kaara” will hit theaters, testing its box office potential.

May 1 sees a flurry of releases, especially in Telugu cinema. Satya starrer “Jetlee” arrives alongside the comedy entertainer “Gaayapadda Simham.”

Both films have generated decent buzz through aggressive promotions. “Jetlee” has caught attention with its fun promotional content, while “Gaayapadda Simham” went a step further with its publicity, including an AI-generated video featuring Donald Trump.

In Bollywood, Sai Pallavi makes her Hindi debut with “Ek Din,” releasing on the same day. Another major Hindi release is Raja Shivaji, starring Riteish Deshmukh, a historical drama based on the life of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj.

The Kannada film industry joins the race with the big-budget film “KD,” while Malayalam cinema brings “Patriot,” a multi-starrer featuring legends Mammootty and Mohanlal.
