After the exit of Shruti Haasan, Mrunal Thakur has signed on to play the female lead in “Dacoit.” On his birthday today, Adivi Sesh announced this, welcoming her to be part of this love drama with an action angle.
Two posters were released announcing her inclusion of this project.
According to the production team, “Dacoit” tells the story of “an angry convict seeking vengeance on his ex-girlfriend who betrayed him. He devises a dangerous plan to trap her, setting the stage for an intense action drama driven by elemental forces—love, betrayal, and revenge.”
This is the first time that Mrunal Thakur, who has played female leads in Telugu films such as “Sita Ramam,” “Hi Nanna,” and “Family Star,” is doing action stunts.
Adivi Sesh said, “Dacoit is a solid action film with a touching love story. We are thrilled to welcome Mrunal to the Dacoit team and eagerly await going head-to-head on the big screens.”
“The character I’m set to depict in the films will allow me to explore shades of playing an on-screen character that I haven’t explored before as an actor,” Mrunal expressed.
Cinematographer Shaneil Deo, in his debut attempt, directs “Dacoit,” which Supriya Yarlagadda produce, Suniel Narang co-produce, and Annapurna Studios present.
