The casting for director Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s magnum opus, Spirit, starring top star Prabhas, is underway. Sandeep Vanga, having completed the script and music session, is now trying to finalize the main actors for other roles.
Reports have already suggested that Kareena Kapoor could have a significant role. There were also reports indicating that actresses like Kiara Advani and Shraddha Kapoor are in consideration to play the main female lead opposite Prabhas.
However, the latest reports indicate that Mrunal Thakur is the front runner to bag the coveted project. The makers are reportedly considering casting Mrunal Thakur and have already reached out to her to inquire about her availability for the 2025 filming.
Mrunal Thakur is already quite popular in the Telugu film industry. She has acted in three Telugu films so far: ‘Sita Ramam,’ ‘Family Star,’ and ‘Hi Nanna.’ She also made a cameo appearance in Prabhas’s recent blockbuster, “Kalki 28898 AD.” Now if everything goes well, she will pair up with Prabhas as the main heroine.
Spirit, a cop drama
For the first time in his career, Prabha will be playing a cop. The film is a crime drama, and he plays a police officer who deals with the drug mafia. “Spirit” is also the 25th film in Prabhas’s career.
Harshavardhan Rameshwar will compose the music. “Spirit” is expected to start rolling from February 2025, and it aims for release in 2026.
