Nagabandham trimmed: New version has a crisper runtime

The makers of “Nagabandham” have acted swiftly on audience feedback by trimming the film’s runtime.
Released on Friday, the fantasy drama starring Virat Karna and Nabha Natesh had an original runtime of 190 minutes (3 hours and 10 minutes). While the film earned praise for its grand visuals and ambitious scale, one criticism remained consistent across reviews: its excessive length.
Many reviewers felt that the second half dragged on for too long, with two extended climax action sequences arriving one after another. The first half, too, was considered to have several unnecessary scenes that slowed the narrative.
Responding to the feedback, the team has re-edited the film and reduced its runtime to 2 hours and 45 minutes. The updated version has already been dispatched to theatres, and all subsequent shows will screen the trimmed cut.
Directed by Abhishek Nama, “Nagabandham” blends fantasy, mythology, devotion, and action. Despite being mounted on a comparatively modest budget for a pan-Indian film, it has been appreciated for its visual grandeur. With the tighter edit, the makers hope the film will offer a more engaging theatrical experience.
