Nagarjuna watches first cut of ‘Lenin’, reiterates release date

Akkineni Nagarjuna took to social media to share a major update about Akhil Akkineni’s upcoming film “Lenin.” The film, which was earlier slated for May 1, has already been postponed to June 26.
However, with Ram Charan’s “Peddi” scheduled to release on June 25, there has been growing speculation about whether Lenin would stick to its date or opt for another postponement.
Putting all doubts to rest, Nagarjuna, not just as Akhil’s father but also as the film’s co-producer, confirmed that Lenin will indeed hit theaters on June 26. He also expressed strong confidence in the film after watching its first cut.
Sharing his thoughts, Nagarjuna wrote that he watched the rough edit of Lenin and was impressed with Akhil’s performance.
“Watched the first cut of our film LENIN last night. I say this with confidence and pride… you are about to witness a new AKHIL on June 26, 2026. Mark the date!!! See you in theaters,” he posted on X.
Akhil Akkineni is in need of a solid hit, especially after a string of underwhelming films and a noticeable gap in releases. Expectations are riding high on Lenin, which is directed by Murali Kishore and set against the backdrop of the Chittoor region.
The film stars Bhagyashri Borse as the female lead, while music is composed by S. Thaman. Two songs from the film have already been released and received a decent response.
Interestingly, Nagarjuna’s firm “mark the date” message comes despite Peddi arriving on the same weekend, setting up an unexpected box office clash.
