Nidhhi Agerwal on Hari Hara Veera Mallu: ‘It pushed me in every way’

As the release date of “Hari Hara Veera Mallu” draws near, anticipation is soaring. Set for a grand theatrical debut on July 24th, the epic period action drama features Pawan Kalyan in a fierce avatar. Nidhhi Agerwal, who plays the female lead, opens up about her role, transformation, and the sheer scale of the project in an interaction with media.

Panchami: A character with many shades

Portraying the enigmatic Panchami, Nidhhi describes the role as one of the most layered and demanding in her career.

“I absolutely loved this character. It’s a blessing to land a role like this in such a big film. It comes with so many shades.”

The actress emphasized how much effort went into bringing Panchami to life, especially through styling and appearance. “My look took nearly two hours to get right every single day. The stylists put in their heart and soul. Every ornament, every pleat, every detail was handled with utmost precision.”

Far from being just a passive royal figure, Panchami required Nidhhi to stretch herself physically and emotionally. “I trained in horse riding, practiced Bharatanatyam, and even participated in fight sequences. This role challenged me as a performer on every front.”

Working with Pawan Kalyan is a privilege

When asked about acting opposite Pawan Kalyan, Nidhhi didn’t hold back her admiration. “It’s a privilege. His stardom is unmatched. Doing a hundred films doesn’t compare to doing one film with Pawan Kalyan Garu.”

She also noted how deeply committed the team was, revealing that she had the greatest number of combination scenes with him. Calling the film’s tagline — Sword vs Spirit — a perfect encapsulation of its theme, Nidhhi touched upon the philosophical core of the story. “It’s a war of ideals, faith, and identity. That contrast is what defines the first part of the film.”

High hopes

While Hari Hara Veera Mallu is rooted in a historical era, Nidhhi explained how its fictional narrative gives it a unique edge. “Veera Mallu is a fictional character set in a real timeline. It’s the Indian equivalent of Indiana Jones, but with royal flair.”

Directed by Jyothi Krishna, with music by M.M. Keeravani, and presented by A.M. Rathnam, the film is produced by A. Dayakar Rao under the Mega Surya Productions banner. As the countdown to July 24th begins, all eyes are on “Hari Hara Veera Mallu” and Nidhhi Agerwal has pinned high hopes.
