Dada Saheb Phalke is considered the father of Indian cinema, as he is the one who made India’s first full-length feature film, Raja Harishchandra. Now, two biopics are in the making.
Earlier in the day, a Bollywood website published news that NTR will star in the biopic of Dada Saheb Phalke, which will be produced by SS Karthikeya and Varun Gupta, with SS Rajamouli presenting it.
The news sent NTR’s fans into a frenzy.
By afternoon, Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan leaked the information that he is already working on a project based on the life of Dada Saheb Phalke. This film will be directed by none other than Raj Kumar Hirani, with filming expected to commence in October.
It remains to be seen whether SS Karthikeya will really produce the biopic with NTR if Aamir Khan and Rajkumar Hirani proceed with their plans.
In fact, there is a Marathi film, Harishchandrachi Factory, which won a national award, that chronicled the life and struggles of Phalke in creating India’s first film.
