67-year-old Chiranjeevi, a highly acclaimed actor, has previously been honored with the Padma Bhushan award. Due to his exceptional achievements in the field of cinema and his philanthropic endeavors, the government has announced the prestigious Padma Vibhushan award for him.
Chiranjeevi is among the few Indian actors who have been honored with the second highest civilian award. He is also the second Telugu actor, following the famous Akkineni Nageswara Rao, to acquire this distinction.
The other Padma Vibhushan recipients from Indian film industry are V. Shantaram, Zohra Sehgal, Lata Mangeshkar, Akkineni Nageswara Rao, Amitabh Bachchan, Dilip Kumar and Rajinikanth.
The news filled the whole Telugu cinema industry with great joy and celebration.
