Papam Pratap leads upcoming weekend releases

With Ram Charan’s “Peddi” moving out of the April race, multiple small-budget Telugu films are gearing up for release on April 17. Among them, “Papam Pratap” is generating the right buzz. Here’s a look at the upcoming releases.

Papam Pratap leads the pack
Actor Thiruveer has carved a niche with content-driven films like “Masooda” and “The Great Pre Wedding Show.” He plays the titular role in “Papam Pratap,” which is set to hit theaters on April 17.

The team has adopted innovative promotional strategies. A recent video featuring Thiruveer and Doctor Babu (played by Nirupam) grabbed attention, putting the film in the spotlight. Directed by SP Durga Naresh, the film revolves around a couple, with Payal Radhakrishna as the female lead.

Badboy Karthik, a test for Naga Shaurya
Naga Shaurya, once considered among the most bankable young stars, has seen a dip in form due to a string of flops and a long gap. He is now hoping to bounce back with “Badboy Karthik,” where he appears in a mass role.

The film, directed by Ram Desina, stars Vidhi as the female lead. The April 17 release will be crucial for its prospects.

Thimmarajupalli TV, Kiran Abbavaram’s backing
Kiran Abbavaram, who has built a steady career in Telugu cinema, is backing a small film titled “Thimmarajupalli TV,” also releasing this weekend.

The film features Sai Tej and Vedha Jalandhar in lead roles.

Malayalam dubbed movie “Pallichattambi” and another small-budgeted movie “Tera Chapa” are also in the fray. With multiple releases hitting theaters, it remains to be seen which film manages to grab audience attention at the box office this weekend.
