Pawan Kalyan: ‘Hari Hara Veera Mallu’ has a strong connection to AP

Advance bookings for “Hari Hara Veera Mallu” opened today across India, and the response has been especially strong in the Telugu states. As anticipation builds, lead actor Pawan Kalyan has been actively engaging with the media. Following a press meet and a pre-release event in Hyderabad, he met with journalists today in Vijayawada.

Speaking to the media, Pawan Kalyan revealed that the story of “Hari Hara Veera Mallu” has a deep-rooted connection to Andhra Pradesh, particularly the Vijayawada region.

“The film revolves around the Kohinoor diamond, which originally came from Kolluru in Andhra Pradesh. During that era, the Machilipatnam port was a major hub for imports and exports. We’ve incorporated these historical elements into the storyline,” he explained.

He also emphasized that the theme of Sanatana Dharma is not forcibly inserted but organically integrated into the narrative.

“Aurangzeb imposed a special tax exclusively on Hindus and was known for his cruelty. He even embedded the Kohinoor diamond into his throne. I play a character who is assigned the task of retrieving that diamond from Aurangzeb’s palace. So, the Sanatana Dharma angle fits naturally into the story,” he said.

He further clarified, “There is no politics in the film. It goes beyond politics. Since I play the lead role, Dharma has been included as one element, but the film is not entirely about that. It’s a wholesome entertainer.”

With strong regional roots and a compelling historical backdrop, “Hari Hara Veera Mallu” promises a unique blend of action, history, and cultural depth.

“Hari Hara Veera Mallu”, directed by Jyothi Krishna and Krish, is set to release on July 24, 2025.
