It’s official: Pawan Kalyan to contest from Pithapuram

Pawan Kalyan, an actor turned politician, has stated that he will run for the Andhra Pradesh assembly elections in 2024 from the Pithapuram assembly constituency.


He spoke with his Jana Sena party members on the eve of their formation day. During his address, he announced that he had chosen Pithapuram as his constituency, which elicited applause and whistles.

Pawan Kalyan is the President of the Jana Sena Party. In the next assembly elections, his party has forged an alliance with the TDP and BJP. The three parties are vying for 175 assembly seats and 25 legislative seats. Pawan Kalyan’s party is fielding 21 candidates for assembly elections.

Pawan Kalyan failed to win the previous time he competed from two different seats. This time, he is sure of entering the Andhra Pradesh assembly. His party is reported to be quite strong in the East and West Godavari districts.
