Amid growing criticism over the disappointing performance of “Game Changer”, producer Dil Raju expressed frustration at repeated media questions about the film’s failure. Meanwhile, reports suggest that director Shankar may take a long break from filmmaking.

Once hailed as the top director in South Indian cinema with an enviable success rate, Shankar is now facing a slump. His recent films — including “2.0” (which underperformed relative to its budget), “Indian 2,” and “Game Changer” — failed to impress at the box office. The repeated setbacks have reportedly prompted pressure on him to lay low, recharge, and return only when he has a fresh and compelling vision.

As a result, “Indian 3” now faces an uncertain future.

The sequel was initially planned to follow “Indian 2,” but the latter’s poor box office reception has made the trade skeptical. Adding to that is the underwhelming buzz around Shankar’s collaboration with Kamal Haasan for “Thug Life,” further denting industry confidence.

Sources say that Lyca Productions is currently not inclined to revive “Indian 3,” at least for now. With Shankar’s recent streak and fading momentum, the project might remain shelved indefinitely.

Whether “Indian 3” will ever see the light of day remains to be seen.
