It looks like Pawan Kalyan’s Jana Sena party is turning more saffron than the Bharatiya Janata Party is. After seeing humiliating defeat in the last general elections, Pawan Kalyan has joined hands with the BJP.
Seeing that BJP’s Hindutva card is also gaining traction in Telugu states, which until now have shunned communal politics, Pawan Kalyan is now trying to project himself as a religious and spiritual person. He took up Chaturmasya Deeksha this year and made sure that he gets publicity for his Deeksha.
He is also regularly wearing saffron kurtas and making rounds to various temples when he makes political tours in Andhra Pradesh. He is projecting himself as a Hindutva leader.
Will these reap benefits to him in the next general elections? We have to wait for 2023 to know the answers.
Pawan Kalyan is currently touring in the Krishna district. On Saturday, he had performed a special Pooja at Sri Bhusametha Venkateswara Swami temple in Dokiparru village in the district.
