Actor-politician Pawan Kalyan’s wife, Anna Lezhneva, offered her ‘Tala Neelalu’—a traditional ritual of tonsuring the head as an act of devotion—at the Tirumala Tirupati temple on Sunday. This gesture was made in gratitude to Lord Venkateswara following the recovery of her son, Mark Shankar, from a recent fire mishap.
Mark Shankar, the youngest son of Pawan Kalyan and Anna, was among several schoolchildren injured in a fire accident at a summer camp in Singapore. He sustained injuries to his hands and legs and also suffered from smoke inhalation.
Pawan Kalyan brought Mark, Anna, and their daughter back to Hyderabad on Sunday morning.
Soon after, Anna flew to Tirupati, signed the declaration of faith—since she was born a Christian—and performed the tonsuring ritual before the deity, fulfilling her vow of devotion.
