Priyanka Chopra confirms Antarctica shoot for Varanasi

Mahesh Babu and Priyanka Chopra’s ambitious globe-trotting project is finally heading to one of the most extreme locations on Earth. Mahesh Babu recently praised Priyanka Chopra for her Hollywood film “The Bluff” on social media. In response, she dropped a major hint about their upcoming film.
“Thank you my friend… See you soon in Antarctica,” she replied, indirectly confirming that the shoot of Varanasi will indeed take place in Antarctica.
The big-budget film stars Mahesh Babu and Priyanka Chopra in lead roles and is being directed by S. S. Rajamouli. Though reports about the Antarctica schedule were doing the rounds for weeks, this is the first informal confirmation from the team.
“Varanasi” is said to be a unique blend of mythology, history, and science fiction, revolving around a time-travel concept. The film is being mounted on a massive scale with a reported budget of Rs 800 crore, targeting a global audience.
The team has already completed key sequences in Kenya and will soon move to Georgia before heading to Antarctica.
Produced by K. L. Narayana and S. S. Karthikeya, the film has music composed by M. M. Keeravani. It is slated for release on April 7, 2027.
