“Pushpa 2: The Rule,” starring Sukumar and directed by Sukumar, had already become the all-time second highest-grossing Indian movie ever. It went past Rs 1800 Cr collections globally in a short span. But the team didn’t want to stop with this achievement. The team wanted it to be the number one movie of all time. Hence, they have released a new version of the film with the name “Pushpa 2 Reloaded.”
This “reloaded” version, with an additional 20 minutes of footage included in the film, began screening in theaters on January 17, 2025.
But the collections tell a different picture: no audiences, not even Allu Arjun’s die-hard fans from his army of fans, entered the theaters to watch it. The released version collected a mere Rs 2 Cr share across India in three days. It is clear that the film ended its theatrical run. The team should have stopped further pushing it.
While the main version of “Pushpa 2” created a box office history, the reloaded version bombed.
