Top director SS Rajamouli unveiled the glimpse of his next magnum opus, Varanasi, featuring Mahesh Babu. The video has been receiving tremendous response, not only in India but also from American media and filmmakers. The visual quality and the core concept have impressed everyone.

The teaser makes it clear that Rajamouli is blending the time-travel concept with elements from the Indian epic Ramayana. While the film showcases the greatness of deities like Lord Sri Ram and Lord Hanuman, a comment Rajamouli made on stage is now drawing criticism online.

During the event, the team faced several technical glitches. The video could not be played for many minutes, leaving Rajamouli and guests, including Mahesh Babu, visibly embarrassed. Taking the mic, Rajamouli remarked that although he doesn’t strongly believe in God, he hoped Lord Hanuman would guide him, as his father had said.

“My father said Hanuman is in my heart and guiding me through the making of this film. My wife is a great believer in Hanuman. But I don’t know why this glitch happened if he’s with us,” Rajamouli said.
