Rajamouli’s Varanasi set for Antarctica shooting

S. S. Rajamouli’s mega global film “Varanasi” has been creating strong buzz ever since its title was unveiled through a glimpse. Starring Mahesh Babu, Priyanka Chopra Jonas, and Prithviraj Sukumaran, the film will make its global debut at CCXP México 2026 on April 24 at the Thunder Stage by Cinemex.
The film’s co-producer S. S. Karthikeya will present a special preview titled “Varanasi to the World.”
The session will feature a video message from Rajamouli, never-before-seen behind-the-scenes footage, and a live audience interaction with a Q&A. This event marks the beginning of the film’s global promotions.
Meanwhile, the team is gearing up for an extensive shooting schedule in Antarctica. Interestingly, Mahesh Babu’s recent solo foreign trip is said to be linked to this schedule. If confirmed, this will be the first Telugu film to be shot in Antarctica.
The film is slated for release next year, with Mahesh Babu reportedly playing a dual role: as a common man named Rudra and as Lord Sriram.
