Rajinikanth’s PRO clarifies viral political allegations

Superstar Rajinikanth has come under intense social media criticism after his recent meeting with former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M. K. Stalin following the latter’s electoral defeat.
The trolling intensified as Rajinikanth had not publicly congratulated C. Joseph Vijay after he took oath as the new Chief Minister. Social media users questioned Rajinikanth’s long-maintained “non-political” and neutral public image, with some trolls even alleging that he attempted behind-the-scenes political negotiations between the DMK and AIADMK to prevent Vijay’s rise to power.
Amid the growing online criticism, Rajinikanth’s PRO, Riaz K Ahmed, issued a clarification on social media dismissing the allegations.
“Superstar Rajinikanth and the esteemed MK Stalin have been friends for 42 years. On the basis of personal friendship, Mr. Stalin met him. There is absolutely no politics involved in this. I humbly request the media not to spread unnecessary narratives,” Riaz stated.
Despite the clarification, discussions around Rajinikanth’s silence on Vijay’s victory continue to trend across Tamil social media platforms.
